Flight information for those coming from abroad:
To Florianopolis: There are two airports in the city of Sao Paulo. Make sure your flight to Florianopolis (FLN) leaves from the same airport that your international flight arrives in, most likely Guarulhos International Airport (GRU - also called Cumbica). The shuttle bus between airports can be inconvenient and confusing, and the international airport has not had any safety problems. Because of overload, the government has announced that some international flights which previously arrived in Sao Paulo will be rescheduled to arrive in Rio de Janeiro instead, so if you book early, make sure you confirm your flights closer to your travel date. Arrival in RJ is fine, but try to avoid a stop at the Congonhas Airport of Sao Paulo (CGH) on the way to Florianopolis (or back), as this is the airport which has had the most delays and safety problems.
Return trip: Due to frequent delays of national flights at Brazilian airports, we recommend that you book your return ticket with at least a five-hour interval before your international connection, to make sure you don't miss it.
